Overview: Elizabeth the Golden Age
The film, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, was the 2007 sequel to the film Elizabeth which was released in 1998. Produced by Universal Pictures and Working Title Films, this modern classic was helmed by visionary director Shekhar Kapur and stars Academy Award winning actress Cate Blanchett in the title role. It is also worth noting that rest of the cast features such names as Clive Owen, Geoffrey Rush, Jordi Mollà, Rhys Ifans, Abbie Cornish and Samantha Morton.
The sheer talent and star power alone should be enough to get anyone excited about this movie. However, the movie has a lot going for it aside from its main cast. In particular, it has a solid plot that revolves around the latter years of Queen Elizabeth I of England reign. Needless to say, the writing for this film and stellar as it grips you by your seat and has you waiting for the next words that come from the actors’ mouths. This is unsurprising considering that its screenplay was written by William Nicholson and Michael Hirst.
